Rodin Carlin’s Abbi Pulling put in a solid performance in FP1 in Round 5 at Monza, just 0.055s behind Lena Buhler in P1.

The British driver really enjoyed the opening session at the Temple of Speed and was delighted to be battling at the top once again this season:

“This morning was really fun! I’ve not got much experience around this track and we’ve not got expectations coming into this weekend. We started the session well - I know I’m good at getting up to speed quickly and finished in P2, but obviously we would like to be at the very front.

Pulling also noted the importance of her communication with her team both during the session and afterwards in order to ensure that they can be as prepared as possible for Saturday’s qualifying sessions.

“Looking at the onboard, the data and the feedback I gave throughout the session, we made a change halfway through, so we just need to calm the car down a bit balance wise. All around the session has been positive and let’s keep going forward.”

While the Rodin Carlin driver is yet to stand at the top of the podium this season, a change in mindset ahead of this weekend in Monza looks to be delivering positive improvements.

“Essentially I’m going in to the weekends with less expectation and just focusing on getting the most out of myself. As long as I get 100% out of myself, whether it’s P5 or P1 or P10, I’m happy. If I don’t feel like where I should be I can get disappointed, but it’s about me doing the best job I can do and giving the best feedback I can give and I think that definitely happened in the last session.”
