Larsen leads the field on Day 2 of in-season testing in Navarra

Alba Larsen ended her running in Navarra top of the timesheets, going fastest of all on the second and final day of the in-season test.

The Ferrari driver’s 1:46.502 put her 0.065s ahead of Emma Felbermayr in the morning segment, with Rachel Robertson a further tenth behind. In the afternoon, it was Felbermayr who led the way, going just 0.016s quicker than Alisha Palmowski, with Robertson netting her second consecutive top-three time.

MORNING

Rafaela Ferreira got the session up and running, logging a 1:48.504 inside the first seven minutes. The Racing Bulls driver was soon demoted by Campos Racing teammate Megan Bruce, who was in turn beaten by Jade Jacquet and Felbermayr.

Larsen would be next to pick up the baton, going quickest with a 1:47.403. In her efforts to find the limit, the Ferrari driver then spun at Turn 6 but was able to rejoin. Undeterred, she pushed on, lowering the benchmark down to 1:47.138, two tenths ahead of Palmowski.

The Red Flag was brought out a few minutes later after a car stopped on track at Turn 17. Once running resumed, Palmowski closed the gap to Larsen down to 0.007s. She then beat the Dane’s effort twice, posting a 1:46.950 to go fastest by 0.098s ahead of Nina Gademan.

Gademan was next to take a turn at the top, only for her lap to be surpassed by Larsen, who went four tenths quicker on a 1:46.502. Felbermayr was able to close the deficit down to 0.065s, whilst Turn 6 continued to catch drivers out as Esmee Kosterman and Payton Westcott each went off.

The third hour saw the lap counts continue to climb, but nobody could challenge Larsen’s time. Felbermayr remained in second, while Robertson was one of the few late improvers as the PUMA driver moved up to third.

Palmowski ended her morning in fourth ahead of Gademan, Ella Stevens and Day 1 pacesetter Natalia Granada. The top 10 was rounded out by Lloyd, Westcott and Billard, who was half a second down on the leading time.

AFTERNOON

Ava Dobson was the first to head back out after lunch, opening her account with a 1:51.095. Felbermayr then set a 1:47.750 to lead the pack, before being briefly dethroned by Rodin Motorsport teammate Lloyd.

The Audi driver was able to regain the place momentarily until Robertson became the first driver of the afternoon to go into the 1:46s. Felbermayr would move back into first with a personal best of her own towards the end of the first hour, setting a 1:46.722 to go 0.129s clear of the Briton.

Rising temperatures resulted in a quieter second hour, alongside a short Red Flag interruption after Dobson spun at Turn 9 and got stuck in the gravel.

One final push for the last hour of testing saw Palmowski close to within 0.016s of the top of the timesheets, but Felbermayr managed to remain fastest. Robertson followed closely behind the pair in third, 0.129s off the P1 spot.

Billard was fourth ahead of Stevens and Lloyd, who ensured all three Rodins ended the day inside the top six. Kaylee Countryman and Ferreira followed in seventh and eighth, with Larsen and Gademan completing the top 10.

Due to prior racing commitments, Mathilda Paatz did not take part in today's sessions.

That wraps up in-season testing for the 2026 grid, but the track action isn’t over yet. Our 18 Rookie Test drivers will get behind the wheel of the F1 ACADEMY cars from 08:30 local time (UTC+2) on Friday.
