With four rounds done and dusted, the F1 ACADEMY paddock returns to the familiar surroundings of the Circuit Zandvoort for the second in-season test of the 2025 campaign.

Looking to consolidate their learnings from the first half of the season, two days of testing await in preparation for Round 5 at the Dutch venue next month. With sunshine and showers forecast, the teams and drivers will be eager to gather up as much data as possible should the mixed conditions play out once more.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Testing is set to run from July 22-23, with 12 hours of track time available across the two days.

Both morning sessions will commence at 09:00 local time (UTC+1) and will run until 12:00. On Day 1, the cars will get back out on track at 14:00 until 17:00. The second and final afternoon session starts at 13:00 for another three hours of action, before the chequered flag brings testing to a close at 16:00.

Pirelli will be allocating five sets of slick tyres to each car for the duration of the test, along with two sets of wet tyres.

THE FIELD

  • Mercedes’ Doriane Pin currently tops the Drivers’ Standings after scoring one win and a podium finish in Montreal. The French driver holds a 20-point advantage over second place Chloe Chambers for Red Bull Ford.
  • After achieving three P2 finishes last time out, Ella Lloyd is the highest-placed rookie in the Standings, sitting fourth on 67 points.
  • A 90-point haul for PREMA Racing in Montreal has seen them reclaim the lead of the Teams’ Standings for the first time this season. On 178 points, the Italian squad sit 27 points ahead of Campos Racing.
  • The Circuit Zandvoort is 4.259km and features 14 corners, including the cambered Turns 3 and 14, which each feature 18-degree banking.
  • During last year’s Zandvoort test, it was eventual 2024 Champion Abbi Pulling who set the pace, topping three out of the four sessions. The Briton set the fastest time on Day 2 with a 1:36.045.
  • Pulling continued that strong form into the race weekend, claiming the first pole position and victory in Race 1. However, the second pole and Race 2 win went the way of Pin.
