ELLA LLOYD

Last season’s top rookie, Ella Lloyd enters her sophomore season with a target on her back, but it’s one that fuels rather than fazes her.

Swapping one form of horsepower for another, Lloyd’s journey to the grid is anything but conventional. A decorated showjumper and Welsh Skiing Championship gold medallist, she made an immediate impact on her transition to cars, scoring points in 15 of the 25 races during her debut campaign in the 2022 Ginetta Junior Championship.

Despite never karting competitively, Lloyd rose rapidly. Delivering instant success in the Ginetta GT Championship, she racked up 10 victories, 10 pole positions and a further seven podiums on her way to becoming Vice Champion in the Pro Class.

Her switch to single-seaters in 2024 brought four British F4 podiums, culminating in an 11th-place finish in the Standings. Making her F1 ACADEMY debut as the Wild Card entry in Singapore, Lloyd delivered two points-scoring finishes with P9 and P7 on her first visit to the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

That momentum propelled her to greater highs in her rookie season, taking McLaren to the top step in Jeddah Race 1 and adding three P2 finish in Montreal to end the year fourth overall.

A member of the McLaren Driver Development Programme, the 20-year-old has also participated in four Formula E tests. With the Welsh dragon emblazoned on her helmet, it’s time for Lloyd to roar in the Rodin Motorsport-operated car once more alongside appearances in British F4.
