Larsen penalised following Austin Feature Race

Following the conclusion of the F1 ACADEMY Feature Race in Austin, Alba Larsen has been handed a grid penalty.

The Ferrari driver was found to have caused a collision with Alisha Palmowski between Turns 12 and 13. When approaching Turn 12, Larsen made an inside pass on the Red Bull Racing driver, with Palmowski selecting a different line to make a repass through the midcorner. At the corner exit, Palmowski was slightly ahead, had left more than a car width to her right and was already moving slightly left towards the entry to Turn 13.

Although Larsen did not leave the track, she too began moving and her left front tyre made contact with Palmowski's right rear tyre. Both cars subsequently retired from the race.

The Stewards determined that Larsen was wholly at fault for the incident and the Dane has been awarded a three-place grid drop for the next race she participates in.
