Payton Westcott is already breaking new ground as the first F1 ACADEMY DISCOVER YOUR DRIVE karter to graduate to a full-time spot in the all-female series, but the Mercedes driver wants to ensure it’s her results that get written into the history books.
The California began karting aged six and soon impressed in the United States Pro Kart Series, California Pro Kart Challenge and the Challenge of the Americas, where she finished third.
In 2024, she made the jump into European karting, representing F1 ACADEMY DISCOVER YOUR DRIVE in the OK-N Senior category of the Champions of the Future Academy Program.
Her step into single-seaters a year later proved decisive, with class wins and podiums across the Formula Winter Series, Euro4, Italian F4 and the UAE Trophy. A top-three time in the inaugural F1 ACADEMY Rookie Test earned Westcott a Wild Card entry for the season finale in Las Vegas, delivering P6 on debut.
Recruited by Mercedes for her rookie season, the 17-year-old will be aiming keep up the Silver Arrows’ run of silverware.
