F1 ACADEMY supports Maya Weug with funded AF Corse GT test

F1 ACADEMY can today announce that 2025 F1 ACADEMY runner-up Maya Weug will receive the opportunity to test a Ferrari 296 GT3 with AF Corse, funded by F1 ACADEMY.

Weug, the first female driver to join the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, drove an impressive campaign in the 2025 F1 ACADEMY season, and her strong performances have earned her the chance to take part in the test.

The Spanish-born driver will take to the wheel of the Ferrari 296 GT3 on December 8 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The announcement underscores F1 ACADEMY’s mission to create clear and credible pathways for female drivers. In collaboration with Ferrari and AF Corse, Weug’s test signifies widespread commitment and recognition for the level of talent graduating from F1 ACADEMY. This positive step forward will not only support Weug in her pursuit of a professional racing seat for 2026 but also help inspire the next generation of female drivers.
