Following the conclusion of today's F1 ACADEMY Qualifying session in Las Vegas, Aurelia Nobels has been awarded grid penalties for both Race 1 and Race 2.

The PUMA driver was found to have impeded Ella Lloyd at Turn 17. Whilst Nobels was on a cool down lap and Lloyd was on a push lap, Lloyd caught the Brazilian at the turn-in point for left-hand Turn 17 as she was traveling slowly just left of the line.

Nobels said she was not aware that she was being rapidly overtaken by Lloyd and had not been notified by the team. The McLaren driver stated that up to that point it had been her best lap, but she was unable to take her line through Turn 17 due to the presence of Nobels and had to make an outside pass on the dirty side of the track to avoid.

The Stewards determined that Lloyd was unnecessarily impeded by Nobels and have imposed a three-place grid penalty on her for both races. As a result, the #22 car will start from P16 for both races in Las Vegas.
