After an eventful Race 1 which saw Bustamante finish ahead of her PREMA Racing teammates Marta García and Chloe Chong, Bustamante spoke about how important it was to bounce back after qualifying:

“During qualifying I think we showed some really good potential, but due to track limits, along with many of the drivers on the grid, we had our times deleted. The mentality today was to bounce back stronger than ever, and I think we showed that in Race 1.”

The Filipino driver was forced to defend for much of the race against teammate García which she achieved to secure a P5 finish.

“I knew Marta was coming from behind really quickly on a track she knows really well” she said.

“But having had some experience at defending in these situations over the years, I felt confident that I could hold her back.”

Heading into Race 2, the PREMA driver will be on pole position having qualified in P8 in Qualifying 1. Last week we saw Amna Al Qubaisi run away with the win from pole position and Bustamante is hoping for the same result and even a double podium for the team.

“In Race 2, I need to make sure that I don’t make any mistakes on the opening lap of the race as I did in Race 1, where I lost positions after going onto the gravel.

"With no cars in front of me going into Race 2, I will have lots of clean air and my teammate Chloe Chong beside me off pole. We have worked on a great strategy to hopefully create a large gap and get a PREMA Racing 1-2."
