Interview
Carrie Schreiner is looking to have a strong second half of the season after finishing in P3 in both testing sessions on Day 1 in Aragon.
The German driver openly acknowledges how challenging she has found the series so far, but after a strong showing on Day 1 in Aragon, the ART Grand Prix driver feels she is now demonstrating her potential.
“To finish P3 in both sessions is something I did not expect considering it is my first time here at the track, but I worked really hard because the first half of the season was really difficult for me. It feels good to finally show my potential."
Schreiner took her chance to jump back into a touring car in the GT60 last week during the gap in the calendar, finishing in P3. The ART driver was delighted with the result and gave her some confidence ahead of the rest of the F1 Academy season:
“I have had difficult weekends so to come to a car that I know really well and have a good result gave me some good confidence. The change was easier that I thought, and it has brought me forward today.”
Ahead of Round 4 in Zandvoort in just over a week’s time, Schreiner was excited to get back out on track: “I haven’t driven at Zandvoort in a while, but it is one of the best tracks on the calendar."
